Increased Interest In Cycling a Boost to Local Bike Industry

According to a September 9, 2012 Richmond Times Dispatch article, the area's retail cycling industry anticipates being among the likely beneficiaries of the UCI World Cycling Championships coming to the city of Richmond in 2015.

"I don't think people realize how big this is, " said Tim Mullins, co-owner of Carytown Bicycle Co. in Richmond. "I still can't believe it's coming here."

Construction Begins on New VCU Children's Hospital

On Monday, September 9, 2012, the Children's Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University  broke ground on a new Children's Pavilion that will be the largest and most advanced outpatient facility dedicated to children in the region.

The $168 million, 640,000-square-foot facility located in the heart of downtown Richmond will house 72 exam rooms; a surgical area with two operating rooms, and two procedure rooms; areas for diagnostic testing and imaging; and laboratory services.
